Hi again,
Well my third reason why I am a single happy mum is not having someone ringing or texting me wanting to know where I am just because I'm five minutes late. Don't you hate that. What is it with guys? They can take all the time in the world when it suits them, but dare you be late! So hey, I don't have that problem and I love it!!!

Reason Number 2- Why I am a Single Happy Mum
Well here I am again. And I bet you can't wait to know what my second reason is as to why I am a single happy mum. I know I know your really rolling around laughing, thinking "who cares". Well yeah a bit bizaar but honestly its not hard to be a single happy mum. I see other couples together, maybe shopping or going out for dinner and you hear them getting frustrated and cranky with each other. Squabbling over the littlest of things. Been there, done that and happy to not have to be going through those situations now.
So basically, my second reason why I am a single happy mum is that I don't have to put up with anyone else getting grumpy over something stupid. I don't have to be a part of the cold silence where you and everyone around you feels tense and horrible. So there you have it. Done :)
...And by the way my gorgeous 11year old completed his cross country race (number 62) this year and he was wrapped that he got all the way. So proud! Every other mum out there would know exactly what I mean. ....and yeah well I still need to wipe the tears even though I wasn't there to watch.

Single Happy Mum
I had this great thought today. I reckon I could come up with 100 reasons as to what makes me a Happy Single Mum. So I am going to post a new reason each day I post for 100 days. Mmm.....Interesting.
....and Exciting.
..and it begins!
Reason Number 1 ............................
Trivial, but you have to admit really good. "I get full control of the main TV without having to sit through something I really don't want to watch. If I want to watch a dvd at ten o'clock at night I can. If I want to watch every episode of Masterchef, So you think you can dance, Australian Idol, The Amazing Race and every other reality show going, I can without the whineing. I love it!!!

My baby ( he's 11) is running in the Cross Country tommorrow. I'll let you know how he goes. Last year when he went in it he only got half way around as his feet were in pain. He now wears orthotics all the time and doesn't have any trouble anymore so we'll see how he goes. He's very excited. I'm so disappointed I won't be there to watch though. I will be at work.
..........well, at least I won't be there getting all welled up as I so soppingly do when my kids do things. Can't help it. I'm one of those mums that stand at the fenceline of school waving to the bus with tears in my eyes as I watch my child go off to camp. (Then you make a wild dash for the car smiling in understanding at any other soppy mums there doing exactly the same. ) You gotta just love yourself for it though, cos we'll never change. What can I say- we're mums!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my baby at last years cross country before he ran. (Lucky the photo was taken first as he was too upset with himself and is feet afterwards )

Its so good to be a mum
My adorable 13 year old and I decided to have a boy free shopping day at Chadstone. She babysat on Saturday so that she would have extra money (what girl doesn't love to spend) and planned every little thing that she was going to look for.
Boy number one (15 year old) had already planned to spend the day at his mates place and boy number two (my youngest- 11 year old) was more than delighted when I organised for him to stay with his friend for the whole day.
So we were free. Just the two of us heading off to shop. Free to look in every shop we wanted to, free to do 30 laps and back again from one end to the other if we need to, free to comment on anything without the 'what does that mean' (as boys do!).
(-Last time my 15 year old came to chadstone with us we went to his shop first as he couldn't wait to get what he was after. Five steps out of the store he says "ok we've been to my shop so we only need to go to two more, one for Brooke and one for mum then we can go home" )
Anyway so we had our beautiful mother/daughter day out and it was so good. (except for the depressing fact that we wished we had lots of money to buy all the things we wanted) But it was good. Really good.
My daughter was so cute. Every shop we went into where she saw something she liked but wanted to look around before she spent her money, she listed into her phone so we knew where to come back to. And believe me, we went back. To every single one. But watching her once we got back in the car excitedly pulling her purchases out of the bags was just the best. Her favourite was an ever so cute pencil case from Sportsgirl (she has a thing about pencil cases-we're not even half way through the year and this is her third one). I reckon she must have pulled that pencil case out of the bag to look at it about 100 times while we were shopping.
So we had a great boy free day. And we can't wait until the next one!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here We Go
The title says it all, doesn't it. Single Happy Mum. And thats exactly what I am.
Three gorgeous (sometimes grumpy) kids and three very cute (and sometimes crazy) cats.
And life is good. How joyous it feels to have the ensuite all to myself and oh my god, I love that I get to use the whole walk in robe just for my stuff. No pushing my clothes all to one end. And when I want to step out of my clothes and leave them on the floor until I feel like putting them away, I can. No questions asked.
